BC STRENGTH TRAINING

Strength coaching and personal training based in Washington DC

About Bryan Crossley, MS

WASHINGTON DC STRENGTH TRAINER

I grew up in Williamsport, PA (home of the Little League World Series!) where I played baseball and was involved in fitness from a very young age. It was from this background that my passion for strength training developed.

Prior to earning a Masters Degree in Kinesiology, I played Division 1 baseball at Coppin State University. During this experience, I realized that having a foundation based in strength was essential. It became evident to me that my passion and priority for strength training was granting me the ability to remain injury-free and reach my absolute potential. This principle applies to all of us.

Maybe, for you, it’s not baseball. Maybe it’s playing with your kids, standing up from the floor without struggle, or just a general ability to move more freely. That’s what I am here to help you with.

My goal is to provide you with the foundation that your body requires to be strong. From this strength comes your ability to move. From this movement, you enjoy a life that is as comfortable and injury-free as possible.

Physical Training for all Fitness levels

My job as a strength coach is to provide organization to an otherwise very overwhelming process. When you tell me what YOUR goals, YOUR priorities, and YOUR needs are, I develop a program tailored to those specifics. Then you just have to show up, be coached, and start getting stronger. You may be a former athlete or you may have never lifted a weight in your life — the starting point is always the same: show me where you’re starting at, explain to me where you want to be, and I’ll plan out the rest for you.

Client Testimonials

Many of my clients have achieved their goals of weight loss, muscle gain, body tone, and more. Hear from them yourself.

Highly recommended personal trainer!

I started training with Bryan a couple years ago one day per week but his program made me feel so strong and gain more focus in my life that I now train with him four day a week.

Bryan has a really good routine for me and I don’t have to put thought on my own to exercise thanks to Bryan. I find myself having better posture and more energy throughout the day.

Because I raved so much about how good Bryan is at his craft, my wife Sophie started training with him about a year ago. Last month my parents started working with Bryan too.

Highly recommended personal trainer!

highly personalized workout

I have been training with Bryan for over 5 years and could not be happier with my experience. Bryan designs a highly personalized workout, focuses on form and technique as much as (if not more) than the number of pounds lifted, and delivers amazing progress. Bryan has also assembled an amazing outdoor lifting facility that is highly appreciated (and necessary) in this time of Covid. And Bryan’s personality ensures a most enjoyable workout environment. I highly recommend him!

–DANIEL K.

high quality equipment and good coaching

Bryan has a solid outdoor setup with high quality equipment and good coaching. He’s consistent as a trainer and is big on technique and form, but has a friendly demeanor and personality to go along with it. I have no complaints about him other than the fact that he is a Raiders fan, and would highly recommend him as a trainer.

motivated me to work past my strength weaknesses

Bryan Crossley has been in my professional life for 20yrs. We have helped develop various strength programs over the years. I’ve also had the opportunity to train underneath his super vision. Which was a personal experience knowing we were in the same field. He was an excellent communicator and motivated me to work past my strength weaknesses. Which is hard to tell when training by yourself. I highly recommend BC Strength Training not only to the public but to others in the professional field of Kinesiology. Thank you Bryan for always challenging me.

challenge yourself and have fun at the same time

Bryan is easily one of the best personal trainers in DC. I came up to the city for 3 months for work, and I was keen on getting my body in shape.

Bryan won’t BS you. He tells you it how it is, and he will tailor fit a program that is unique to your needs. I also like that he focuses on movement patterns and takes a kinesiological approach to strength training. This is very important because it helps to avoid injury.

Over the course of these past 3 months, I’ve met with Bryan at a rate of 4x a week. He’s trained me to be much stronger, and I’ve reached weight lifting goals that I could not have imagined coming into this. I also feel and look much better than I did coming in.

As I finish this Summer, Bryan has proved not only a great personal trainer, but also a friend. He’s a really chill guy. You will challenge yourself and have fun at the same time.

You can’t go wrong with BC Strength Training! Do it!

strongly recommend Bryan as a personal trainer

I strongly recommend Bryan as a personal trainer. I was pretty much a beginner when I started with him, and he coached me through learning the proper form for each of our lifts before moving on to more ambitious targets. He strikes a good balance of providing feedback and coaching when it’s needed without being overly critical. I’m happy with the progress I’ve made – thanks Bryan!

–ANDREW

looking forward to every workout

As an avid ice hockey player, athlete and fitness professional myself, I can vouch for Bryan’s expertise and knowledge as a personal trainer. He listens to my goals, creates a thoughtful exercise plan to achieve them, and is excellent at evaluating and teaching proper movement and form. He is very receptive to feedback, keeps our sessions challenging without overdoing it, and stays focused and attentive when we work together. On top this, he has a fun, friendly and non-judgmental demeanor – all of which keep me looking forward to every workout. I would highly recommend Bryan to anyone from beginners to trained athletes!

–JIM

the most knowledgeable, effective and consistent

I’ve worked with a dozen trainers over the years and Bryan’s the most knowledgeable, effective and consistent. I’d recommend him to anyone from serious young athletes to professionals like myself who cope with body damage from stress, desk jobs, bad food environment, and creeping sedentary lifestyle. With Bryan I have lost fat, built some muscle, reversed posture problems, and improved flexibility. I’m more mindful of the importance daytime activity and at least I know what I should be eating even if Five Guys often seems tempting! For a lot of people, having somebody like Bryan in your life can mean feeling and looking your best instead of looking and feeling like you’ve spent your life in the Beltway (the rubber tire around your gut, not I-495)!

–CARL

knowledgeable about exercise science, physiology, and nutrition

I’ve trained with Bryan, the founder, for over three years and highly recommend BC Strength Training. Bryan is knowledgeable about exercise science, physiology, and nutrition. BC focuses on lifting technique for long-term gains, as well as on meeting fitness goals. I particularly appreciate BC’s efforts to reconfigure lifting programs to keep the training interesting and to minimize plateauing. As client goals always vary, I also appreciate BC’s work in developing an individually tailored fitness program geared at what I want to accomplish. I’ve gotten to know other BC clients, who tend to be busy, working professionals around D.C. As a result, BC has experience in integrating stress management and healthy living into fitness programs. I’m happy to speak with anyone thinking about working with a BC as part of a fitness route.

Not only do I look better, I feel better

When COVID closed gyms, Bryan worked hard to get equipment that could be used outdoors so that his clients could continue to work out, which not only benefited their immune systems but also their mental health. He has a full set up and so much equipment that I haven’t once missed the gym. He cleans the equipment and space obsessively after every client.

Unlike some personal trainers, Bryan does not give the same basic workout to every person. He individualizes your workout plan based upon your body and your goals. He explains each exercise so you know why you’re doing it and how to do it. Not only do I look better, I feel better. I have bought packages with Bryan for both of my parents and would highly recommend him to anyone serious about their fitness.
